Taughannock Farms Inn is located on a hill, overlooking Cayuga Lake, in Trumansburg, New York, just outside of Ithaca. The main building is a Victorian mansion with a lovely 150-seat restaurant and 5 guestrooms on the second floor. There are 4 other guesthouses that are spread out on our 12 acres, and we have a total of 22 guestrooms. Our restaurant features American cuisine, and the main dining room has 3 walls of floor to ceiling windows that provide unparalleled views of beautiful Cayuga Lake. I often think to myself that the main dining room, with those long and tall windows, reminds me of one of the dining rooms on the Titanic! The Inn is great for Weddings as well as Rehearsal Dinners. Nicely maintained lawns next to the Inn provide a stunning view of the Inn, as well as of Cayuga Lake just below, and are really pretty for outdoor ceremonies right there. The property is located directly across from the Taughannock Falls State Park, and by means of a trail that starts at the edge of the Inn’s northern most Guest House parking lot visitors can reach an excellent view of the waterfall from it’s base, by walking along the 3/4-mile-long well maintained gravel trail. The base of the falls also proves to be a stunning & unique setting for your one of a kind Wedding Ceremony. The gorge trail is open all year long, unlike the rim trails which are closed to the public in winter. The main cataract of the falls is a 215-foot drop, making it 33 feet taller than Niagara Falls. It is the tallest single-drop waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains. (Just a totally useless fact I wanted to throw in there)
