We are a 110 year old, member-owned private country club with 450 members. We are an active and growing club with a broad spectrum of individual and family members. We are located in the town of Elmira, 5 minutes from downtown — in the famous Finger Lakes region of New York state. We recently undertook a 6.5 million dollar renovation project that included an incredible 26,000 square foot clubhouse overlooking an A. W. Tillinghast designed 18-hole golf course.
We have extensive dining and banquet facilities set amidst the spectacular views of Elmira’s lush river valley. Excellent party and reception facilities (can manage up to 350 person + entertainment + dance floor). The main Ballroom is one of the largest in the Elmira/Corning/Watkins Glen area of Upstate NY. The Chef, food service & wait staff are always top notch, overseen by experienced and very courteous & Professional Management. Before the real party begins, it’s common practice for the Club Manager to set us all up with golf carts for a quick run up to the seventh hole tee box area, from which tremendous Wedding Images (below) can be captured with views encompassing the entire Clubhouse as well as the beautiful rolling hills of the Elmira/Corning Chemung River Valley.

- Mike Sullivan, the Owner & Proprietor is a personal friend of mine & we go way back to the ’80’s.
Mike’s family’s summer home is steeped in tradition dating back to 1933. We are the oldest licensed restaurant in New York State. While much of the building has been upgraded and added onto throughout the years, the centerpiece is still the large stone fireplace surrounded by the original wood floor in the main dining room. There are three rooms on the main floor which seat 275 comfortably and another on the second floor which seats 50 guests of its own. Oh, and that’s only the inside. Outside there is a beautiful deck and Paddy ’O which seat another 200 guests and a beautiful terrace to seat another 200 guests. Each and every dining space overlooks the Chemung Valley, the City of Elmira, and the foothills of Pennsylvania.
Many of our brides and grooms choose to get married here right on site surrounded by our beautiful gardens and landscaped grounds. The rod-ironed, vine covered arbor is the perfect entrance into both the ceremony and reception. On the side of the hill stands the historic trademark monument to days gone by… the world’s largest Christmas Wreath! What was once called the “largest wreath in the world” has been lit at the Hilltop Inn in Elmira to shine over the city for the 27th straight year. The wreath is 56 feet tall and 46 feet wide with more than 1,200 bulbs. At the time it was built in 1982, it was the world’s largest wreath and even now, remains the largest free-standing wreath. The wreath is also wired for a secondary purpose, and on St. Patrick’s Day, a second set of lights forms a shamrock. I understand that plans are also in the works to add the “Trifecta” of lights to this wreath, and that will be the addition of a third set of lights, this time Red Lights mounted on the inside of the structure facing the patio. This set will light up as a huge, Red Heart! “It’ll be just like Vegas!” proclaimed the visionary photographer (whose modesty prohibits my not to be identified) who initially proposed this brilliant and functional addition, as it will now shine upon the many Wedding Ceremonies that are held yearly on the adjoining concrete patio overlooking Elmira NY.
